Maize chlorotic mottle virus is a plant pathogenic virus.
Maize chlorotic mottle virus (MCMV) is the type species of the genus Machlomovirus. As a mixed infection with Wheat streak mosaic virus (WSMV), Sugarcane mosaic virus, or Maize dwarf mosaic virus, it induces a synergism referred to as Corn Lethal Necrosis.
MCMV is a single-stranded positive-sense RNA virus that is package in a 30 nm, T=3 icosahedral particle.
